About Jim

Below is Jim's obituary:

Our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend passed from our lives April 11, 2008. Jim was born January 11, 1981 in Lansing, Michigan. He graduated from East Lansing High School in 1999. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Best, grandparents, William and Rosemary Bowerman, and much loved family pets, "Tom" and "Misty Kitty". Jim is survived by his mother, Joanne (Larry) Lose of Webberville; father, Bill Bowerman of East Lansing; sister, Julie (Mike) Bassett and special niece and nephew, Emma and Gavin Bassett of Ann Arbor; grandmother, Barbara Best of DeWitt; numerous aunts, uncles, cousin; and many beloved friends. Jim was a very caring, compassionate young man who loved to travel, spend time at the beach and stay in close contact with family and friends from all over the U.S. He is remembered tenderly for his free spirit, his warm personality, and for the pure sweetness of his soul manifested in the dimples on his face and in the beauty of his blue eyes. His loss is felt without measure. The family asks that contributions be made to the "Jim Bowerman Memorial Fund", established at First National Bank of America, 241 E. Saginaw St., East Lansing, MI 48823 to help the family in their search for the person responsible for Jim's untimely death.
